Portia de Rossi talks about weight loss, anorexia, bulimia

Portia de Rossi talked about her battles for weight loss. That is hard to picture since she has always been gorgeous. However, de Rossi shared a darker side of her life while struggling to make it as a model and actress.

De Rossi said she was an anorexic and bulimic. She had anorexia and bulimia and abused her body. She used fen-phen to experience un-natural weight loss quickie methods.

When she was starting out to make a name for herself, de Rossi had image issues and fought against her weight to appear slimmer. De Rossi used to hide her sexual orientation as she was afraid she would lose her acting jobs in Hollywood.

Portia De Rossi sat down with Oprah to do an interview on her Oprah Winfrey Show. This episode was scheduled on Monday, November 1, 2010. Rossi spoke about her past battle with anorexia.

Portia de Rossi though she was fat and starved herself, whittling her frame down to 82 pounds. She revealed she used her will power to slim herself.

De Rossi was also battling social pressure and anxiety issues over her lesbian orientation. Around that time, Rossi said she dated men and women and was more comfortable with the latter.

During the time when she found fame on “Ally McBeal”, she became so concerned with losing weight that she became a victim to the eating disorder. From 1998 to 2002, De Rossi played a lawyer in the show and faced her biggest challenges with her image.
