Weight loss is bad for elderly
Weight loss is bad for elderly people. Weight loss may not be necessarily good for elderly people. Seniors who are slightly obese and overweight may actually live longer and out-live thin ones.
Researchers offered a few theories to explain why weight gain in older people is actually good. The fat in an older person’s body is a reserve for nutrition and metabolism. This is an advantage as it assists the body in recovering from an illness.
The elderly who are overweight generally get medical checks for diabetes and high blood pressure. This means these diseases can be caught early and treated for elderly who are overweight.
